KSU vs. Oklahoma - Football

Today the Oklahoma Sooners came to Manhattan after suffering their first loss of the season last week against Texas Tech. K-State came into the game undefeated, and ranked higher than OU in the BCS standings, but were still the underdogs.
After a close first half, the Sooners came out in the second half and held KSU scoreless, while racking up just shy of 700 yards of offense for the game. The final score was, 58-17, leaving the Wildcats with their first loss of the season.
The road does not ease up on K-State as they travel to Stillwater, OK next Saturday to face the No. 3 team in the country, the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real

Last night Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real played an amazing show at McCain Auditorium. I was first introduced to this band at Farm Aid in Kansas City earlier this summer. The band is led by singer and exceptional guitarist, Lukas Nelson, son of country music legend, Willie Nelson. I was given access to the band shortly after they arrived in Manhattan, and was able to photograph the band during sound check. I met all four members of the band, and all of them were very nice and down to earth. After the concert, I met up with them again, and shockingly, they remembered my name and thanked me for photographing the band and supporting them. I would have been at this show regardless of photographic access or not, as I am a big fan of the band. They played an electrifying set and left all who attended buzzing afterward.

Sunflower Showdown - KSU vs. KU - Football

Today I traveled 90 minutes east on I-70 to the wonderful city of Lawrence to photograph the "Sunflower Showdown." K-State came into the game ranked 11th in the latest BCS polls, and the Kansas Jayhawks have been struggling. From start to finish, the Wildcats took care of the Jayhawks quite easily. I have been to Lawrence many, many times, but today was my first time inside of Memorial Stadium. I was really surprised by the lack of attendance, and how there were seemingly more K-State fans than KU. The final score was, 59-21, in favor of K-State, and the Wildcats remain undefeated at, 7-0. Next weekend Oklahoma comes to Manhattan for a tough game. (Although, as I write this OU is currently losing late in the 4th quarter)

KSU vs. Baylor - Football

What a great game today at Bill Snyder Family Stadium! The 15th-ranked Baylor Bears came to Manhattan and took on the Wildcats in what was a very exciting game. The score was close throughout, but a couple of late scores and a defensive stand by K-State gave them the, 36-35, upset. The Wildcats are 4-0 on the season and should be ranked nationally when the new polls come out tomorrow.

Baylor quarterback and early season Heisman Trophy candidate, Robert Griffin III, walks off of the field after K-State stopped the Bears on a fourth down attempt late in the fourth quarter. After trailing at the beginning of the fourth quarter, two late scores and a defensive stand led the Wildcats to a, 36-35, upset of the 15th ranked team in the country, and maintain their undefeated record for the season.
